Andrew Alpaugh Blast From the Past

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20.00 bill?" Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this. He proceeded to crumple up the $20 bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. Well, he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it to the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went in to the air. My friends, we have all learned a valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives we are dropped, crumpled and ground into the dirt by the decisions that we make and the circumstances that come our way. We have had an exciting past week reaching some milestones with Bryson. Of course with a baby around there is always something exciting happening. He is finally starting to eat table food. This includes Kraft Mac and Cheese (his favorite) of course he's been eating mashed potatoes for a while, real oatmeal, graham crackers, and Jello pudding. He loves real food. Just grins from ear to ear and wrinkles up his nose when he gets "people" food. He has his 2 bottom teeth. Nothing on the top yet. He drank from a straw today. I remember with my other children and other peoples children that I watched it seemed like it took awhile for them to get that concept. We have always had to take Bryson in his room and in the quiet and dark rocked him with a bottle. Don't get me wrong, we love rocking him but sometimes we would love to just put him in his bed and leave. (A little spoiled ya think?)
