I Sure Miss You

If life could only bring again, the days I took for granted when To hear your voice was just a call away Oh what I'd give for just some time, to say the things that slipped my mind There's so much now I'd really like to say But I can never go back when we did the things we did back then I'll store those precious memories in my mind I'll take what you've instilled in me; I'll try to be all I can be And walk the path that you have left behind Chorus: I sure miss you; life will never be the same with you not here Each passing day has brought much pain But with God's grace my strength remains I sure miss you, but heaven's sweeter with you there The little things that seemed so small are now gold in a memory vault I cherish every one I have of you Now I can see and recognize the part you played to shape my life I often see you in the things I do In God's design and master plan He saw the hurting hearts of man As we would say goodbye to those so dear S

You Chose To Be My Friend

SO...my birthday isn't actually til' next Saturday but THE CRABB FAMILY happened to be in town just the weekend before! I'm okay with that! :) Wouldn't have wanted to miss it...Jason, Adam, Kelly and Terah were there minus Aaron! They did an awesome job (as usual) and you'd never know they'd ever stopped singing together as a group! They are my favorite southern gospel group around...even though they've all gone on to do separate things I still enjoy each and every one of them and it was good to see them back together again! I was able to get some great pictures and videos and posted below is a video I recorded of an older song of the Crabbs (You Chose To Be My Friend) but not yet released onto any of Jason's albums. I'm pretty sure he said it would be on his next album though! :) It is absolutely one of my favorite songs...think probably my favorite of the night...so hard to decide! Weak Places, Strong Places by Lysa TerKeurst

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.” Psalm 18:2a (NIV) We all have them. Weak places. Places inside that make us wonder if we’ll ever get it together like the “together people.” Places that make us feel less than. Less than victorious. Less than a conqueror. Less than strong. My weak places frustrate me – especially this time of the year. I just resolved to do better a week ago at the New Year and already I’m slipping. And yet I refuse to resign that I can’t ever change. With the power of Christ all things can be made new. All broken things are subject to restoration. But sometimes I get so tired of trying and I just feel weak. Can you relate? What is your weak place? A money situation that seems impossible? A marriage issue that frustrates you to your core? A temper that flares? An insecurity that stings? A family dysfunction that is always brewing? A food issue that rages even though you just signed up for that new die

Standing Firm in the Storms of Life by Mary Southerland

Standing Firm in the Storms of Life Part 2 Mary Southerland Today's Truth 2 Corinthians 6:6 (NLT) "We have proved ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, our sincere love, and the power of the Holy Spirit." Friend to Friend It would be just fine with me if I never had to go through another storm. However, God is more committed to my character than He is to my comfort. Every storm is an opportunity to grow in Christ and trust Him more. The Apostle Paul was well acquainted with vicious storms and harsh realities. In his writings to the church at Corinth Paul offers five truths that - when applied - will enable us to stand firm in the storm. Truth 1: Live a pure life. Truth 2: Seek understanding. Truth 3: Learn to be patient. Truth 4: Practice kindness. When bad things happen, we cry out in desperation for someone to care. More people come to Christ during a crisis than at any other time. Kindness is simply compassion at work and love in a

Standing Firm in the Storms of Life by Mary Southerland

January 4, 2011 Standing Firm in the Storms of Life Part 1 Mary Southerland Today's Truth 2 Corinthians 6:6 (NLT) "We have proved ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, our sincere love, and the power of the Holy Spirit." Friend to Friend Just as storms in life are a certainty, so is the provision of God. Life can be messy and bad things will happen but every crisis and every storm is also an opportunity to trust God. He calls us to a heavenly perspective when facing challenging times. He calls us to see the storms of life as He sees them - opportunities for His power and purpose to be illustrated in human terms. How can we face the storms of life in a way that honors God? First truth: Live a pure life. 2 Corinthians 6:6 (NLT) "We have proved ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience." The apostle Paul was certainly no stranger to storms. In his writings to the church at Corinth, Paul lists several actions we c
