Just some random happenings.

We have had an exciting past week reaching some milestones with Bryson. Of course with a baby around there is always something exciting happening. He is finally starting to eat table food. This includes Kraft Mac and Cheese (his favorite) of course he's been eating mashed potatoes for a while, real oatmeal, graham crackers, and Jello pudding. He loves real food. Just grins from ear to ear and wrinkles up his nose when he gets "people" food. He has his 2 bottom teeth. Nothing on the top yet. He drank from a straw today. I remember with my other children and other peoples children that I watched it seemed like it took awhile for them to get that concept.

We have always had to take Bryson in his room and in the quiet and dark rocked him with a bottle. Don't get me wrong, we love rocking him but sometimes we would love to just put him in his bed and leave. (A little spoiled ya think?) After rocking him we would try and get him laid down without him waking up but sometimes we were right back in the rocking chair with him. Anyways, on Friday night we decided to just put him in the crib with his bottle and AMAZINGLY he drank it and fell asleep. We were so excited. It's worked ever since. We hope it continues.

We FINALLY figured out what was causing his cheeks to be rosy red. Last week we had some really nice weather thus the reason we ran no heat in the house. His cheeks cleared up within a few days and looked awesome by Saturday. Well- it turned cold yesterday and we turned the heat back on and what do ya know- the red cheeks have returned. Ughhhh! I wish for summer to be here. I HATE gas heat. It's so dry and much too hot, and VERY expensive to run. Next house will have a heat pump for sure!

Well- I saved the best for last! Bryson took his first steps today! (Yaaaay for Bryson!) Only about 3 and then a few that were 2 but hey- it's a start! Looks like he might beat Emily if this keeps up. She took her first steps almost exactly a month later than this and by 10 months she was walking really well. We'll see. We tried to capture some video but he just wasn't cooperating for the camera. Maybe tomorrow!
