Never know what you might find...

A few days ago I laid Bryson down for a nap with no pants on since it was kind of warm and thought he might get too hot. Well... wouldn't you know, the first time I do that he has a huge poopy and we found him covered in poop from head to toe! How gross! Andrew quickly got him to the tub while I was getting all the blankets and sheets out of his crib to put in the wash. It also had got on his bumper pad so I took that out and washed it as well. So, on to the reason for this post. After washing everything, I decided I wasn't going to put the bumper pad back in and that he didn't need it anymore. Besides- it's such a pain to untie all the ties every time I have to remove the sheet and such. So, tonight, I go in to check on him and this is what I found. Couldn't resist snapping a few pictures. Might just have to put the bumper pad back in the crib!

  My first wife Wendy was the most amazing person I ever knew. She was kind, loving, faithful, and strong. She loved her family and she loved God so much. She was such a better person than me. She was diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer coming up on 8 years ago. It was a devastating news for us. Glioblastoma is a very aggressive and fast-growing tumor that starts from the star-shaped cells in the brain called astrocytes. It can invade and destroy healthy brain tissue and cause many symptoms such as headaches, nausea, seizures, and personality changes. We tried everything we could to fight this disease. She had surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible, but it was impossible to get rid of it completely. She had radiation therapy and chemotherapy to kill the remaining cancer cells, but they were very resistant to treatment. Trisomy 13 - Dignity and Grace in Life and Death

On September 14, 2001 Andrew and I found out we were expecting our 3rd baby. We had done this twice before and I was not that concerned or anxious to get to the Dr. right away. We were very excited even though we had not actually "tried" to conceive. We had also decided we would keep it a secret as long as possible! :) Love to keep a good secret! On October 31st we had our first ultrasound and discovered that our baby had markers for a chromosomal disorder as well as tachycardia. Devastated at hearing this we shed lots of tears and I experienced a lot of worry, anger, and fear at what lied ahead of us. I prayed many times that if the Lord was going to give us a baby that would not live that He would just go ahead and take it from us right then.
