Dollywood Get link Facebook X Pinterest Email Other Apps October 05, 2010 Andrew and I were engaged 17 yrs. ago this month so we decided to go on a little get away without our children to celebrate our anniversary early since it is always SO cold in January and doesn't really work out well being right after Christmas and all, plus we have always wanted to go to Dollywood during the Gospel Harvest Celebration when there are LOTS of Southern Gospel Quartets to hear. We got to hear the Bowling Family, Gold City and The Florida Boys. Got to do lots of shopping, eating and even went to the Dixie Stempede...something we have never done! It was not really my cup of tea but Andrew loved it :) so that's good for me. My favorite part of the meal at the Dixie Stampede was the creamy vegetable soup and the biscuit brought out before the meal. Wish I had a bowl to eat right now! We of course sat on the South side but unfortunately the North side won that night. Oh-well! It was definitely a treat to enjoy our peace and quiet and leisurely walk through the park with no kids...but at the same time we missed them bunches and couldn't wait toget back to them. We heard Bryson never even asked for us ONE time! Boo-Hoo! As always, there is no place like home! Get link Facebook X Pinterest Email Other Apps Comments
Trisomy 13 - Dignity and Grace in Life and Death September 02, 2009 On September 14, 2001 Andrew and I found out we were expecting our 3rd baby. We had done this twice before and I was not that concerned or anxious to get to the Dr. right away. We were very excited even though we had not actually "tried" to conceive. We had also decided we would keep it a secret as long as possible! :) Love to keep a good secret! On October 31st we had our first ultrasound and discovered that our baby had markers for a chromosomal disorder as well as tachycardia. Devastated at hearing this we shed lots of tears and I experienced a lot of worry, anger, and fear at what lied ahead of us. I prayed many times that if the Lord was going to give us a baby that would not live that He would just go ahead and take it from us right then. On November 23rd, I began spotting and cramping but since it was Thanksgiving weekend we waited til the following Monday to go to the Dr. where we found out that there was no heart beat and our baby was resting safely in the arms of Je... Thanksgiving at Dollywood November 30, 2008 We had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving in the Smokey Mountains! Hopefully good memories our children will cherish when they are grown. We managed to pull off cooking dinner in about a 4x5 foot space called the kitchen! It all turned out and everything was delicious! The kids shot some hoops and Bryson had a good ol' time just running around and picking up leaves while we waited for the Turkey to get done. Later that evening after Bryson was in bed we played a game of Cranium. The front desk had games that you could check out. Definitely not a game I would care to play again! The day after Thanksgiving we headed over to Dollywood. The weather was gorgeous and could not have been more perfect. Bryson was in awe at all the lights when it started to get dark. I think the first time ever he has actually sat in his stroller for a whole day without fussing to get out. There was lots to look at and it kept him busy thank goodness. After that we headed back to our condo to e... Read more
